The intention is that WISH will be supported by a association and a company operated on similar lines to a B Corp, the latter to run development and cloud infrastructure, together with consultancy and assistance for organisations seeking to integrate their systems.
For both entities the aim is to create an environment which will support collaboration in the interests of patients. An association will be created for users with financial support from the company, and hopfully also by donations from users and other sources.
Market potential is large: in N. America, Europe, Japan and Australia: in the developed world between 15 and 25 percent of the population live with and manage chronic conditions; the proportion for younger populations are lower, but still very significant, and will grow as birth rates fall and life expectancy increases. Almost all possess a smartphone or tablet, yet despite a plethora of healthcare applications, few make real use of them and almost none manage multiple conditions with an app. WISH is designed to change this.
WISH will provide patients with a low-cost toolset for improving quality of life; its use can be expected to enable patients (as well as insurers and governments) to save substantial sums in healthcare costs. The income that WISH generates will come in the form of cashflows from annual subscriptions and consulting services; at scale these will be significant and can be expected to deliver stable returns for investors.
Development costs have so far been met by the founder. This commitment will continue, but the project would undoubtedly progress more rapidly if it were to benefit from additional early stage funds. With this in mind, we invite social impact investors and foundations who share our objectives and seek long-term partnerships, to contact us.
