Approach

Our approach is founded on the following principles:

  • A long term perspective
  • Public standards and open protocols
  • Respect for the role of governance when making decisions about information systems
  • Catalytic (as opposed to a top down) mindset for coaching teams towards common objectives

Data flows and management are core elements of the successful functioning of all acute hospitals: weakness or failure in this space has a direct impact on the quality of care.

Information systems, digital communications and related infrastructure: human (training), hardware (equipment) and software, need to be the subject of clearly defined strategy which has built in flexibility and is closely aligned with the organisation's objectives on all timelines.

This is intellectually challenging, requires honesty and commitment from all involved, consultation, and a common understanding of why and how: without which compromise between competing views can be impossible to achieve.

Experience demonstrates that while leadership vision is essential, solutions imposed without consultation and widespread engagement with users carry an elevated risk of failure.

Our approach serves to unify the engagement of all stakeholders, empowering staff and adding value for the long term.
